Large Family Q&A

I once did a Large family q&a quite a while back, and many people loved it. So I decided to do part 2.

There are so many inquiring minds about large family living; I don’t blame anyone because I sometimes question why and how raising seven kids is even possible.

It is mentally and physically challenging, but not all challenges are dire. Having the challenge of raising seven kids is an immense blessing that I can’t even fathom on most days. Yet, at the same time, most of my friends, family, and neighbors wonder how we raise them all; what better way to answer the masses than with a fun q&a?

In case you missed the first part, I’ll link it here. Our LARGE FAMILY Q&A | The questions we get asked the most.

#1. Are they all yours?

Ah. Yes, they are all mine. All seven of them are all mine.

#2 Have you ever lost one?

I will get a lot of backlash for this; however, if I choose to be dishonest, then what’s the point of this questionnaire?

The answer is yes.

I can’t believe I’m even telling this story, but I did leave one of my children behind at church during a Christmas event. Though this may be scary for many, I am at least happy that it happened at an event where the only family was present.

#3. How do you fix all five girls’ hair so fast?

I have five girls, and believe it or not, I get asked this. All. The. Time!

When the girls were a lot younger, I would have them get their little brushes and hair ties ready. Then, as they were waiting, I would have each of them prepare their hair by brushing it, making it so that when it was their time to fix their hair, I didn’t have to do so much brushing.

I also kept it simple; a Slick bun with a cute bow or a slick ponytail. The trick was the bow or any hair accessories, as this was a good way of hiding any bubbles in their hair during the hair rush.

#4. Are you done yet?

I’m not sure. Maybe?

When my husband and I were a younger couple, we had the number three in mind. We thought three was perfect. It didn’t take long before we got to six. After six, I kept having this spiritual impression that I was supposed to have another son. So we tried again, and sure enough, he came.

So to answer fairly. My answer is always no. But if there is any impression that there is another one in heaven waiting, I may change my mind.

#5. Did you plan on having seven?

I should have answered this one first, but no. We originally planned on having three. Yet, here we are, seven kids later.

#6. Are any of them adopted?

No, I gave birth to all seven kiddos. Might I say I am very proud of my strong body?

#7. Are you a Mormon?

The church’s correct name is the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and the answer is yes.

I will say I didn’t have seven because I am a member. I had seven children because my husband and I decided to, and lastly, the spiritual impression given at the time.

#8. Do you have a lot of siblings?

This is quite hilarious, but no! Well, from the same parents, no.

To answer that clearly, I had two sisters and one brother from the same parents. My husband has one brother and one sister from the same parents. But we do have half siblings also.

I enjoyed asking these questions! If you have any more for me, leave your questions in the comments, and I might do a third part.
